What is Inner Circle in WE?
The Inner Circle feature helps identify warm introductions by highlighting when a lead is connected to someone affiliated with your organization, making donor cultivation more effective.
Who are my Inner Circle members?
Your Inner Circle consists of close allies - such as board members, advocates, or former colleagues who can help facilitate connections.
How It Works
When researching or screening profiles, the system cross-references them against your Inner Circle list and flags relevant matches:
IC Member - The person is directly on your Inner Circle list.
IC Match - The person has a strong connection (e.g., board member, close family) to someone in your Inner Circle.
This feature ensures you don’t miss key opportunities to build relationships with potential donors.
Adding People to Your List
There are two ways to add people to your Inner Circle & Major Donor list. Follow the steps below based on your preferred method:
Method 1: Adding Records Individually to Your IC List
Step 1: Open the profile you searched for and saved under My Profiles > Unlisted Folder.
Step 2: Look for the Badges at the top of the profile page.
Step 3: Hover over the badges to identify the IC Member badge.
Step 4: Click on the IC Member badge to add the person to your Inner Circle list.
Method 2: Adding Records to Your IC List in Bulk
This method saves time and allows you to add multiple people to your Inner Circle list simultaneously.
Step 1: Prepare a file using the Basic or Detail template. You may also use a custom file, but ensure your Custom Template matches against your input file and it includes the full name and address of IC members.
Step 2: Upload the file via Express Upload and check the box for Screening for: Inner Circle or Major Donor 
Note: This ensures the system recognizes the file type. Screenings for Inner Circle and Major Donor are free and do not consume credits.
Step 3: Select the template type (Basic or Detail), specify the file format, and set Rows to Skip = 1 
Step 4: Click Upload. You will receive an email notification once the file/job status is updated.
Note: When you select Screening for Inner Circle or Major Donor, the process runs like a regular screening. However, instead of creating a new list, it generates snapshots of the screened profiles with IC/MD flags under the designated (IC/MD)list. This type of screening does not consume screening credits.
Only matched records are included in the IC/MD lists, while unmatched records are removed. This approach helps maintain clarity and ensures that the lists contain only relevant records.
